Christoph Wirth, geb 1985 in Saarbrücken arbeitet als Dramaturg, Regisseur und Musiker und lebt in Berlin. Während des Studiums der Theaterwissenschaft und Philosophie in Mainz und Leipzig, war er Assistent für René Pollesch und Laurent Chétouane an den Münchner Kammerspielen, Sophiensaele, Berlin und Nationaltheater Weimar. Seit 2008 arbeitet er als freier Produktionsdramaturg,Regisseur und Musiker in unterschiedlichen künstlerischen Kollaborationen und Kontexten u.a. für Laurent Chétouane, Internil (Berlin/Leipzig), L´OUTIL (Dijon), INSTITUTET(Malmö/Berlin) und von 2008- 2013 als freier Produktionsdramaturg und künstlerischer Mitarbeiter an der Skala des Centraltheaters Leipzig. Seit 2010 entwickelt er in unterschiedlichen Kontexten interdisziplinäre Performanceprojekte an den Grenzen zwischen körperbasierter Performance, Installation, Happening und Musik. In seinen Arbeiten kombiniert er kontextuelle und relationelle Aspekte künstlerischer Arbeit mit medialen und szenischen Inszenierungen. Seine performativen und musikalischen Arbeiten wurden international präsentiert unter anderem beim Festival d´Actoral Marseille, Inkonst Malmö Südpol Luzern, Teater Avantgarden Trontheim(Bastard Festival 2014), Teater Nordkraft Aalborg (Nordic Performing Art Days 2014), CDN Théâtre de Bourgogne Dijon (Théatre en Mai 2014), Theaterdiscounter Berlin, Sophiensäle Berlin und Ballhaus Ost Berlin.

Christoph Wirth works as dramatic adviser, musician and director. During his university studies of philosophy, literature and theatre studies he did dramaturgy and direction assistences for Laurent Chétouane, René Pollesch, Münchner Kammerspiele and Staatstheater Weimar. Since 2007 he is working as freelance dramaturg, director, composer and musician for Laurent Chétouane, Johannes Schmit und Martin Laberenz. 2008 – 2012 he was host dramaturg and artistic collaborator at Skala, Centraltheater Leipzig and parallel he works in the performing arts scene with Internil (Berlin,Leipzig/De), INSTITUTET (Malmö/SE) and IRMAR (Dijon/FR). His performative and musical works have been presented internationally, e.g. at Lofft Leipzig (DE),Schlosstheater Schönbrunn Vienna (AU), Festival d´Actoral, Marseille (FR), Sophiensäale Berlin(DE),Ball- haus Ost Berlin (DE), Südpol Luzern (SE), INKONST Malmö, Teater Nordkraft Aalborg (D) and Damansara Performing Arts Center Kuala Lumpur (Mal) amongst others. In his latest performative works he focuses on the framework of the performance – event itself,examining the very contextual and socio- political conditions which produce it. His works try to short- circuit different artistic strategies moving between conceptual and body- based approaches, applying sound – and installation art to performative practice.
